Let's Help Promote Adopt-A-shelter Dog Month!

Here I am looking a bit younger and not quite sure what to make of my new home.

We're in the home stretch of Adopt-A Shelter Dog Month and there's still lots of ways you can help get orphaned pets adopted into loving homes. Unfortunately, the shelter statistics are still heart wrenching: Over four million dogs enter U.S. shelters each year and nearly 40% of those never find their forever home.

The ASPCA has rounded up a few tips that will help you help celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month and make an impact in your community and across the country:

1. Adopt or Foster. You can use ASPCA's data base tool to find dogs near you in need of a home.

2. Share Your Story. If you share your home with a rescued dog, tell the ASPCA all about your furry friend's rescue story—you could even win a prize pack and have your story featured on ASPCA Parents!

3. Donate if at all possible. Help the ASPCA achieve their goal by making a gift to help them save lives!
