Parental Unit is endlessly fascinated with the natural world and particularly the delicate balance of our planet's ecosystem. So when she saw this short video describing the amazing impact of the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone National Park, she just had to share.
"Predator control" basically eliminated wolves from the lower 48 states by the mid 1900's—in other words, humans interfered with the delicate ecosystem balance to the detriment of all animal and plant species, including their own. In 1995, it took an act of Congress to enact a plan to reintroduce wolves to Yellowstone National Park, and here are the magnificent results. The presence of the wolves "transformed not just the ecosystem, but its physical geography."

Very interesting. We reintroduced boars here and it has been a disaster. Now we too are reintroducing wolves. The ecosystem is a delicate thing for sure. Have a serene easy Sunday now.
