Scene from Boulder, Colorado
We're sure you've been sending positive thoughts to our friends in Colorado, whose lives and homes have been lost in the recent flooding. As usual, though, something good emerges from the rubble to warm our hearts and renew our faith in not only our human companions, but in our animal friends as well. We've all heard the stories of our dogs' faithfulness and heroic exploits, but the news out of Estes Park, Colorado centers on a feline named Jezebel, who appears to have saved her owners and their guests.
Jezebel woke up her soundly sleeping owners, the Johnson's, by slapping Mr. Johnson's face and yowling nonstop. The couple, who have owned the "Whispering Pines Cottages" in Estes Park since 1993, awoke to find floodwaters entering their cottage and the other cottages where their guests were sleeping. Thanks to one cat, everyone was able to evacuate safely. "We had no warning other than the cat," Johnson said. "She is going to be treated like a queen for the rest of her life."

Wow, animals never cease to amaze me :) I'm keeping all those affected, humans and fuzzies, in my thoughts.
