Finally, the dogs are getting their due! We were excited to read in yesterday's Washington Post, that the U.S. soon will install the first national monument to honor its four-legged war veterans: The U.S. Working Dogs Team National Monument, which honors every dog that has served in combat since W.W. II, will be shown for the first time in California this coming January. Following its California debut, it will move to its permanent home in Texas.
Although we long for the day when no monuments to soldiers of war will be necessary, we're glad that our brave canine heroes and their enormous contribution to our nation's safety and security will finally be officially recognized.
