We're thrilled to see this great news reported just today in the Los Angeles Times: LA has just become the largest city in the country (and the 28th in the U.S. and Canada) to ban the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits obtained from commercial breeders. Yahoo! After this ordinance takes effect, pet stores in the city of angels will only be allowed to sell animals from shelters, humane societies and registered rescue groups. One of the city councilman who is a proponent of this law said, "...lawmakers have a duty to stick up for animals who cannot speak for themselves." And we couldn't agree more. Let us know what you think after you enjoy this breaking news report fresh from Los Angeles City Hall.
