We were taken by this recent story published on the Huffington Post, that discussed the number of pets lost after the recent tornadoes, and tells the tale of at least one that was reunited with its owner with the help of social media. In this case, Sherill Metz, from Huntsville, Alabama, took to Facebook as soon as she realized her three pound pooch had escaped through a hole in the backyard fence, just before a tornado struck. (It turns out that six tornadoes hit Huntsville that day). Apparently, her story went viral overnight, and over a week later, she received a call that a family had indeed found her mud-soaked Lola. Check out this Facebook page set up specifically for animals missing after the recent storms.

According to Mrs. Metz, "People all over the country were praying for me and thinking about me...even when I started to lose hope, I was receiving constant encouragement."
Just wondering: How have you dealt with a lost pet? And would you take to social media to help find your lost companion?
