Pedigree To Donate 27,000 Lbs. Of Dog Food To Hurricane Irene-Damaged Shelters

Yes, you read that astronomical number correctly: Mars Pedigree and the Pedigree Foundation have decided to donate a (really) whopping 27,000 pounds of dog food to RescueBank, a national pet food distribution organization working to get dog food to the neediest facilities in the Albany, New York area. So despite Irene's destruction, this is truly a win-win situation-more dog food to the shelters and displaced pets who need it the most!

As we mentioned in our previous posts, Parental Unit was honored to be one of Pedigree's sponsored bloggers that attended BlogPaws 2011 the weekend that Irene hit the east coast. While the conference wasn't much disrupted, it soon became apparent that Irene's damage would wreak destruction  for both humans and their animal companions. Numerous east coast shelters and their pet food supplies were damaged or destroyed: that's when Pedigree stepped up to the plate and decided to donate much needed food to one of the areas most reputable pet food distribution organizations-did we mention that number? 27,000 pounds of Pedigree dog food!
