Has everyone heard about Jack, the cat who was lost in Kennedy Airport on August 25? Jack and his kitty sibling, Barry, were checked through security on an American Airlines flight, along with their human companion, Karen Pascoe, who was moving from New York City to San Jose, California to start a new job. It seems that somehow, only one half hour after Ms. Pascoe handed over her cats to American Airlines workers, she was notified that Jack had somehow escaped his secure pet carrier.
American airlines, together with a "pet search-and-rescue specialist" that includes a scent-tracking dog, have been scouring the airport ever since-even issuing a "pet Amber alert", setting humane traps, and supposedly holding daily briefings "to review progress and generate ideas for locating Jack."
Since Ms. Pascoe started a Facebook page (Jack the Cat is lost in AA Baggage at JFK) and Twitter account to publicize the hunt (@findjackthecat), not everyone has been friendly to American Airlines. In fact, the airline's Facebook page, that includes periodic updates on their search efforts, has been besieged with requests for the airline to do more to find Jack and to post more frequent updates. We just checked and the last update from the airline was yesterday afternoon (September 9).
For those of you who have a spare moment, check out Jack's Facebook and Twitter pages, offer your messages of support and keep up with the rescue efforts. Let's keep our paws crossed for Jack's safe return!

oh, I hope they find him....I have a relative who has been begging me to come visit her in CA with Zero in tow, but I worry about her trying to escape her crate to find me, or worse, something happen to her while she's in the plane. So I haven't made the trip!
