Since the subtitle of Bocci's Beefs is "One Dog's Musings on Life with Humans and Other Animals", we thought we'd spend at least part of every Monday ruminating about something that happened over the weekend, and let you help us figure out if our thinking on the matter is as "spot on" as we (or at least I) tend to believe it is. Sometimes it takes a village, or in our case, the entire blogosphere, to figure out us pets and humans, don't you think?

So here goes... Parental Unit decided to buy me a (not so meaty) bone when she was visiting her favorite local food shop. She figured I'd clean some tartar from my teeth while enjoying the tasty marrow.
She was so excited about the idea that she even snapped a picture of the butcher with the bone.
When Parental Unit returned home, she started singing her goofy little tune that lets me know she has something special for me: "I've got something for Bocci...", repeated so many times I become dazed and confused. We finally went outside and she triumphantly presented me with my treat.
What did I do with the bone? Please choose from among the following or make up your own response:
1. I happily gnawed on the bone till all traces were gone, smacked my lips and had a nice long roll in the grass.
2. I galloped around the yard with the bone in my mouth, then played with it for the next hour, but did not eat it.
3. I sniffed at the bone once and dashed away to search for squirrels. But when Parental Unit went inside, I buried the bone under a bush.
4. I chewed my way through most of the bone, then gave Parental Unit a good chase around the yard before I finally gave up the small piece that was left.
Please let us know in your comment which of the responses you think that I chose, by picking one of the above numbers or just letting us know a different, perhaps more appropriate response.
And check back on Wednesday evening when we'll tally the responses and let you know the one most frequently chosen...and what I really did. We're looking forward to hearing what you think!
P.S. Don't forget that you have till tomorrow at noon-ish to enter the giveaway for "15 Great Pet Blogs...And Their Most Memorable Posts"!

I'm going to vote for #2. Good enough to play with, but not nearly enough spice to be considered food :)
Hi Bocci! I'll pick #3. Because I bet your mommy was waiting for you to get all excited about the bone. Hahaha!
Guess what? I'm going to BlogPaws. Are you going to be there? Maybve we can romp around together and pee on some stuff!
Your pal
BANDIT!!!!
I vote for #3!
Your pal, Pip
I think it's #4! :)
Hmmm, this is a tough one. I vote for #4.
Carol
I vote for #3. Given that your mom was so excited it would only figure that your response was less than she had hoped :)
We vote for #1 because that's exactly what we would do with a delicious marrow bone, Bocci!
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
We're voting for #3 as well just because of the way Parental Unit presented it.
(And we've never ever had a marrow bone ...)
Wirey woofs,
Jake and Just Harry
Even if it was "not so meaty" as you say, we still think #1
