To celebrate this first official day of summer, we thought we'd bring you some helpful tips for making sure your favorite pooch has a safe, healthy and fun few months in the sun (or in our case, not-stop rain!)
First up, check out this video from CNN that features Laura Maloney from the Humane Society of the United States with ideas for keeping you dog safe from from the heat. One hint: a dog's sweat glands are in the pads of it's paws, so walking or running for long periods of time on hot pavement is a bad idea.

Then read and post this summer check list from Dog Fancy Magazine in a handy location.

Finally, have a look-see at this tips for taking those summer road trips with your dog, courtesy of Real simple.com and posted on CNN's web site:

Most of all, we hope all of you and your four-legged friends have a fun and safe summer!
