It doesn't really matter which came first-what matters is that a young man who thought he was "destined to die" is given a new purpose in life, and hundreds of 'throw-away' dogs have been placed in loving homes.
Once on the verge of death from alcohol-related liver disease, Zach Skow is now healthy, sober, and the founder of Marley's Mutts, a non-profit shelter that specializes in placing large-breed homeless dogs; typically, the dogs that are least likely to be adopted from shelters. Zach says: I found purpose because of them. I got better because of them."

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, stay tuned for the details (and photos) from my first-ever trip to a dog park!
