We thought we'd pass this poignant photo along for a second, "Almost" Wordless Wednesday.
This pooch, Leao, has refused to leave the graveside of his late owner, who was killed in the recent catastrophic floodings and landslides in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro State in Brazil. We're sad to report that six hundred and fifty-five deaths have been reported so far.

This picture breaks my heart. Does anyone know what has happened with this poor guy. What devotion he has, if all the people in the world had his devotion it would be a much better place. The HoundDogs

I've seen this pic... so sad. A couple of weeks ago, my asst. watched a movie on the Hallmark channel about Hachi, a dog who spent 9 yrs waiting at a train station for his owner to arrive home from work (the owner had died and would never return.) Asst. was a blubbering mess by the time it ended. It was based on a true story... here's a link if you want to read about it

Touching and heartbreaking. You can read updates about the flood recovery and the efforts of a local family who rescues street dogs at the "Dogs in Brazil" blog - http://www.janeiro-emmy.blogspot.com/. (They take part in the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop.)

Especially the pets without families and homes now -

The devotion that could only be found in a dog. Poor doggy... sure hope someone is feeding him.
