We wanted to share a wonderful experience we had earlier this summer visiting an amazing Inn in the Hocking Hills region of southeastern Ohio, called The Inn at Cedar Falls. Parental Unit has been visiting this Inn for over 20 years to hike in the beautiful Hocking Hills and then dine at the Inn's fabulous restaurant, always longing to stay in one of their rooms, cottages or cabins.
Well, this spring, after meeting the wonderful Editorial and Social Media Director of FIDO Friendly Magazine, Carol Bryant, at the first BlogPaws conference, Parental Unit decided to pitch this breathtaking Inn for a FIDO friendly destination piece for the magazine.
Thanks to the generous Innkeepers, Ellen Grinsfelder and her husband, Terry Lingo, Parental Unit and I were able to stay the night in a pet friendly cottage and interview them for the story. The article appeared in the November/December issue of FIDO Friendly-enjoy it right here!
Yep, you're seeing that right! That's me on one of the Inn's relaxing porches with another canine visitor, Rudi. And Rachel, my personal photographer, was there to snap these pictures. (You can click on the article below to "biggify" and read!)
Here are a few pictures of the Inn taken during our stay on a warm June evening.... remember those? All of these photos were taken by Rachel at www.rachellaurenphotography.com
This is the original 1840's log cabin that houses the restaurant
The building on the left is the gift shop and Inn registration with a wider view of the restaurant cabin.
And here's part of the outdoor dining patio directly behind the bar/restaurant.
Let's peek inside...this is part of the log cabin dining room.
And this is the guest lounge-take a gander at that gorgeous fireplace! Further back is the entry to the conference area, fully equipped for business meetings and other gatherings.
Speaking of a fireplace, we want to make sure that you all know that the Hocking Hills region and this beautiful Inn is a wonderful respite throughout the winter season-talk about cozy and relaxing! And the Inn offers reduced rates and all kinds of fun packages for its guests during this "off" season.

We'll leave you with a few thoughts from the Innkeepers:

The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is proud to be a dog friendly facility in the beautiful Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio. We offer two quaint cottages and one 1840s log cabin for our furry friends to visit. Many guests enjoy traveling with their "best friend". We even have a special "treat" for them upon arrival.
We make every effort to listen to our guests and accommodate their needs. That's mainly why we decided to become dog friendly. In addition, innkeepers Terry and Ellen loved traveling with their golden retriever.
With breakfast included with your stay, the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls also provides a fine dining experience in the Hocking Hills offering lunch and dinner featuring a large seasonal outdoor dining area.
Restore your balance as you experience the deep relaxation of our luxurious spa treatments at the Spa at Cedar Falls. A quiet retreat awaits those seeking the luxury of spa services gently balanced with closeness to nature.
Being in the heart of Hocking Hills, the Inn is an ideal setting for business meetings, girls’ getaways, weddings, church groups, and special interests groups like car clubs and photographers.
