But first, a little background on how this "most successful pet adoption program in the world" got started 12 years ago. Mike Arms, one of the two fabulous keynote speakers at the recent BlogPaws West conference has been the president of the Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego, California, since 1999. During his first year at this world renowned animal haven, he realized that they needed help to promote adoption programs-both theirs and so many others around the country. So he collaborated with 14 other organizations and placed 2, 563 orphaned animals with loving homes that very first year. By the second year, Iams was on board with financial resources and professional promotion staff, and the rest is...well, not history but the future. Last year's campaign included thousands of participating organizations worldwide and placed nearly 1.4 million orphaned animals! And this year's program is collaborating with 3500 animal organizations in 21 participating countries.
Want more up-to-the-minute great news? We're only a little over two weeks into this year's campaign, and Iams Home 4 the Holidays has helped adopt 51, 235 orphaned animals and donated 7, 297 meals to animal shelters! Yipppeee!
Here's how you can get started helping this amazing campaign:
1. Check out Iams Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/iams to learn more about making a difference in the life of an orphaned pet, including how to get involved in the campaign, details about pets available for adoption, fun ways to donate meals, and much more.
2. When you visit Iams Facebook page, "Like" the page itself and/or individual content and Iams will donate up to 100 meals per "Like" or comment to feed orphaned animals.
3. When you buy a specially marked package of Iams dog or cat food during the campaign, Iams will donate one bowl of food to a participating animal organization.
You know, I take great pride in helping to promote pet adoption programs because I'm an adopted dog, myself-I know first hand what's like to be in a small cage, even in the best of shelters, just waiting for one kind soul to ask you to join his or her family. So let's rally 'round the flag (or in my case, the tree) and get "pumped" to help this program!
As always, thanks for your generosity and support.

OK then. I'll have Blog Mom do the Facebook thing, as usual. I'm not allowed on Facebook. I don't know why. But she's got an account. And we'll look for the specially marked food. The cats have been enjoying IAMs dry food for digestive health lately. It did help Simone with a wonky tummy. I hope that's one of the specially marked things.
