Write A Post, Help A Dog. Courtesy Of Pedigree!

Remember our recent quest to agree on something we could all do to help pets in need? Well, here's one great idea that Parental Unit and I think we can all agree on, curtesy of Pedigree. Parental Unit has just returned from a fabulous conference in Denver, BlogPaws West, for pet bloggers and some of the companies that provide products and services for our furry family members. And Pedigree was not only one of many companies generous enough to sponsor this event, they also sponsored Parental Unit and several other bloggers to attend. The focus of this sponsorship (and most of the conference, by the way), was on how we, as bloggers, can help promote the adoption and rescue of homeless animals.

Here's a sad fact: each year, more than four million dog end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations.
Pedigree has stepped up to shine a spotlight on the plight of these homeless dogs by creating The Pedigree Adoption Drive.

I bet you all remember this adorable pup from the Pedigree commercials.

This year, The Pedigree Adoption Drive is raising awareness for homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to shelter dogs for everyone who becomes a "Fan" or "Likes" The Pedigree Adoption Drive on Facebook. So far, more than one million bowls of food have been donated!

And get this: Pedigree will also donate a 20 pound bag of their new dog food (Pedigree Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs), to shelters across the country, for each blog post that mentions this adoption drive-wow!

All that you have to do is take a few minutes by September 19th, to do two things:
__ Become a "Fan" of The Pedigree Adoption Drive on Facebook right here: www.facebook.com/Pedigree?ref=ts. Please excuse the unfortunate interloper on this site-it's in the process of being removed :-).

__ Write a short post on your blog that highlights The Pedigree Adoption Drive. and feel free to use Pedigree's tagline, "Dog's Rule" (hey that's something we can all agree on, right?)
 Pedigree's search engines will automatically pick up these key words and, presto, the food will be donated!
