French Friday

A dear friend of Parental Unit ( my Aunt Nanette), recently went on a weeklong trip to Paris (that lucky gal!) and returned with some interesting dog photos - some of these pooches  appear to be the faithful companions of their homeless masters. Clearly, though, they all seem to be well cared for... and well behaved!

Speaking of being grateful, I never thought to be grateful for a literal "roof over my head", but I sure am now!

A poodle, of course!

And here's a picture of my Aunt Nanette taking a quirky photo of some "eyeballs".

Parental Unit and I are going to a Pet-A-Palooza tomorrow that will raise money for a local animal shelter.  Expect some fun pictures soon!

You knows, I has seen articles bout dis and they did say da homeless will do ANYTHING furs their companions...give them the last of their food and such. It is hard to see. Uh, i don't think my opinion matters here but when there is love, they will find a way.
I greenvious your PU went to Paris.

Very nice photos. I guess if you are homeless the need for companionship may be greater. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, of course your opinion matters, Puddles! Parental Unit wishes she'd gone to Paris, but it was her good friend who got to go! And we agree, it is hard to see and think about...

Hello...Thanks for commenting about my kitty client who goes by the name "2 Buck Chuck"! What a silly name for a cat, right? He is a hoot though, especially after he has a few drops of wine in his belly!
I live 1 hour from Cambridge, Ma, and for some reason there are a lot of homeless people there and I was completely touched that they cart their dogs and cats around with them. The pets looked very happy and well cared for and I'm sure they enjoy being with their owners all day long! Great pictures!

I think it is wonderful that neither of them are alone. There is nothing better than going through all the good and bad with your best friend in the whole wide world.

"Will look cute for food"? But seriously... I think it is pretty cool that in each of those pictures, it is very apparent that both human and doggie are happy for the companionship.

My grandma went to Europe some years ago and she saw several homeless with their doggies. And she thought the same. They really love them and take good care of them.
Thanks for sharing those pictures.

Kirby and I are in Oregon, and panhandling is 100% legal here. Because of this, we have a very, very large homeless population- and many of them have pets. We were at a grocery store and I gave a guy (and his dog) a few dollars, and he ran in to buy some chicken. He told his pup to wait, and the dog laid there, staring at the door. I don't think that dog would have moved if its life depended on it. It's an amazing bond. It amazes me that people who survive on so little do such an incredible job providing for their pets, when some people who have homes/cars/whatever leave their dogs chained to a tree. :(

Anyway, great photos! I especially like the dark little guy in the round bed. :)

Beautiful photos! It's amazing that both the dog and their hooman share a very strong bond between them. None of them is lonely now!!!

Those are great photos. Just shows you that a dog is really man's best friend. How wonderful that they have those companions and betcha they get extra money so the animals can eat.
Have a great week end.
