You know, we terriers are a smart group. In a comment on a previous post, our friends from down under, Inky and Molly the Airedales, told me to avoid letting my Parental Unit on the bed because she'd get spoiled, and before I knew it, I wouldn't have much room to stretch out. See that comment here:

So I started thinkin' about what a smart idea that was and finally had the opportunity to take their advice.
When Parental Unit got up for a minute to visit the restroom this morning, I made sure she wasn't goin' to hog the bed again...at least not today. What do you all think of this strategy?
Parental Unit could curl up at the foot of the bed with the cat if she wanted to, though. I wouldn't kick her off totally...

I think my dogs are following your strategy, too. Could it be that they're reading your blog? I woke up at around 2:00 am and found myself with about 1-2" of space on the bed. I'm going to have to change their passwords on the laptop so I can get a good night's sleep!

Hey, Boccmeister. We're glad we could teach you something. You are being very gracious by offering the bottom of the bed not only to the kitty kat, oh lord, but to the pinkie even.
One thing we know for certain, we would NOT be lying there motionless if a kitty kat was on OUR bed, let alone in OUR hous. Boy, you've got some nerves...
We like the white sheets best, too. A blank canvas to leave plenty of personal marks in a very personal space...
