Bless The Beasts And The...Hedgehogs Too?!
I just wanted to show you all some pictures from the pet blessing that was held on July 4th in our nearby park. We had one around Easter time too, but Parental Unit forgot her camera. She must think I need all the help I can get, cause she gets me blessed at every opportunity. Wonder why?
Here's the scene as we approached-there were a lot of folks considering the scorching heat.
Here's the "laying on of the hands" as I get blessed by the lovely pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Dr. Kathryn Dwyer. Sure hope it "takes"!
And here I am befriending the lady with the treats offered to each pet after the blessing. Notice pooch behind me (so to speak) trying to horn in on the treat action. Well, I never!
Here the pastor is blessing a stuffed animal that a little girl brought ( I ate its treat!).
And the picture you've all been waiting for-the hedgehog!

Dude, I need all da helps too...ever time we pass a church mum asks if I needs to repent sumptin and they not even Catholic ...they Southern Bapbtist....hehehehe!

I don't really care if they blessed the hedgehog... just tell me they drew the line at squirrels.

A real, live hedgehog, huh? The only ones I've ever seen are stuffed and squeakers in them! And hey, you got to score on the treats! Sounds like a great day to me!

P.S. When the pastor patiently blessed that girl's stuffed animal, Parental Unit started tearing up :-)
Did she lay on hands on the hedgehog too? only that can get very spiky.
I've come across these spiky fellas in our garden, got so excited I had to bite something except the hedgehog (I'm not stoopid!) so the railings got it.
Nice touch this blessing thing.
